Strong Words for Weak Times

The Time has come,
    and we've asked for it, haven't we?
Change is in the air,
      and it's completely up to Us.

We're afraid,
     and the fear is toxic.–
We might die, and it's the first time
       we've ever considered the Kill.

This Thought rules all others,
    and it's Ugly.
We desire Beauty,
     but she must anxiously wait
            for us,
to stretch and bleach
          this tired Canvas.
